Higley High School Athletics Poster (2011)
Each year, the HHS Athletics department publishes a poster to advertise the school and its athletics programs.
Higley High School Game Day Shirt (2011) top
The Marketing and Student Council teachers asked me to design a general “game day” shirt for the Higley Knights.
Seasons of Change Yearbook Cover & Endsheets (2010) top
The yearbook editors asked me to design their cover and endsheets (inside covers) for their 2011 book themed, “Seasons of Change.” They specifically asked me to make the title an ambigram, so it reads “Change of Seasons” when turned upside down.
Higley Veterans Day Celebration “Stuff” (2010) top
The logo was designed by one of my students, Jordan Camp, but I ensured the logo was print-ready so that it could be used on pins, souvenir medallions, flags, banners, programs, etc.
Magazine Spread (2008) top
For Massively Magazine, this spread told the back-story of one of the playable characters, the Asgard, in the still-developing online game, Stargate Worlds.
Game Convention, Leipzig Germany (2008) top
Still in development, Stargate Worlds had a booth at the train station in Leipzig, Germany as well as vehicles to shuttle members of the press to and from the event. The 3D Stargate in the booth at the train station had to be created entirely in Adobe Illustrator so that it would be high enough resolution to print.
Stargate Worlds Banners (2008) top
I was asked to create these banners for trade shows, exhibitions, and the like.
FireSky Investor Leave-Behind (2008) top
As a start-up social networking and gaming hub, FireSky executives needed something they could hand out at meetings, events, etc. that would encourage investors. The idea behind FireSky was that it would be one online portal (or “hub”), that people could use for social networking, gaming, and other avenues (or “spokes”). The “hub and spoke” concept was used to create this interactive leave-behind.
Stargate Worlds CD Label & DVD Insert (2007) top
The CD label was used on disks with exclusive game screenshots, which were given out at press events. The insert was included in the DVD release of Stargate: Atlantis Season 3. Both were used to advertise the still-developing Stargate Worlds online game.
Therapeutic Foster Care Ads (2006) top
These ads were created for the Valle Del Sol organization, but did not ultimately get used (this is why the logo in the ad has been changed to a non-existent company). Valle Del Sol specializes in “therapeutic foster care” or finding foster homes for children from particularly violent or tragic circumstances. Ofttimes, the parents of these children are still living, but unable to care for their children due to prison, drug use, or extensive abuse. The challenge in this ad campaign was to encourage parents to become a part of the foster care program, but let them know the background of the children involved. Contrasting the cute illustrations with the disturbing statements dramatically tells the story of these children. The tagline, “Help a child forget what you can’t imagine” tugs at the heart strings of the viewer, leading to a possible offer to help. There are ten (10) total ads that I created. Only four are shown here.
Sunscreen Ads (2005) top
These ads were created to sell sunscreen, but without showing skin or sun. “Avoid Burning,” “Avoid Wrinkling,” “Avoid Peeling,” and “Avoid Dryness” are the messages portrayed.
Candy Bar Wrapper (2005) top
These chocolate bars were marketed to tween girls and use a concept of being “smitten” with someone, as well as “doodling” on a piece of notebook paper.
